NEWS AND SITE CHANGES OF MARCH '99... BACK TO OLD NEWS PAGE
We just discovered an interview of Cecilia Barajas, Director of the C:CTP
development team. Hold on, it's right here on us! :) Read it all on our new interview section.
A successful feature in the CivII section of Apolyton, The Column is looking to expand its reach and create a C:CTP version. If you are interested in submitting an article for review and display in this weekly feature, please email Dan.
On Activision's CTP Forum
the idea that seems to have the more fans, is that of the evolving statue. A very interesting idea is
that the statue will represent the characteristics of the player: gender, personality, civilization, etc. The development
team is still looking for new ideas, so drop by Activision's forum and give your input.
Markos prepared a preview for GamersCentral and it is now online (screenshots included)!
You can find it here.
In an OGR preview of C:CTP, the "same old-same old" was mentioned but some new aspects were brought up as well.
Gameplay is being extended to 7000 years, ending in 3000 AD. The unimaginative "Future Technology 1, 2..." will be replaced with more creative ideas during gameplay. Micromanagement is being streamlined --- they were will be an AI controlled macro system and build queue so now you can build all the 'custom' cities you like (i.e. focusing on trade). Finally, an entirely new concept being incorporated into C:CTP is "readiness". To read it all, click here!
The newest topic on Activision's CTP Forum is whether there shoud be a castle(like in civ1), a throne room(like in civ2), or something else. Activision will reward the person that comes up with the best idea by putting his name in the credits and sending him a signed copy of the game! So, go there and do your best!
